Woodfield School is an innovative and exciting independent special school, supporting children and young people with Autism and associated speech & language, social communication and behavioural difficulties, aged 7 to 19.

We are excited to offer the opportunity to join us as an Attendance and Pastoral Support Officer and help our students thrive. This is a term time only position based at the school Monday to Friday, 7:45am to 4pm.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support pupils at risk of low attendance and liaise with staff and external agencies.
• Implement strategies to boost attendance, confidence, and self-esteem.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and produce reports.
• Provide tailored advice and guidance to pupils and families.
• Act as a key contact for parents and visitors, representing the school professionally.
• Undertake any other administrative duties relevant to the role.

This is a key and varied pastoral position in the school where no two days are the same. The appointed person will be able to work independently and as part of a team, will have excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manner as well as the ability to be confident and calm under pressure.

You will act as the initial point of contact for parents, visitors and other stakeholders. As the ‘face’ of the school, you will be welcoming, personable, helpful and able to represent the school in a professional and friendly manner.

What We’re Looking For:
• Experience working in a school environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with young people and families.
• ICT literacy (Microsoft Office).
• Understanding of attendance issues and their impact on learning.
• Experience with vulnerable or SEN young people (desirable).
• Functional Skills/ GCSE or equivalent Level 2 in Maths and English.
