Associate Fire Engineer
Hays Health & Safety is working in partnership with a respected international consultancy to recruit an experienced Associate Fire Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking, multi-sector design practice delivering fire engineering solutions across commercial, residential, transport, and energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead fire engineering design across a range of sectors including buildings, infrastructure, and energy facilities
- Develop fire strategies, assess fire-related risks, and ensure compliance with UK and international standards
- Manage multiple projects from concept to delivery, including budgeting and stakeholder engagement
- Support junior engineers and act as a technical reviewer on project submissions
- Contribute to tenders and help grow client relationships
The successful candidate:
- Degree in engineering (ideally fire engineering) or relevant postgraduate qualification
- 10+ years’ experience in fire engineering, including consultancy and site-based roles
- Strong knowledge of standards such as BS9999, NFPA 130, BS9992, EN45545
- Experience with fire modelling tools (e.g. FDS, PyroSim) is advantageous
- Working towards Chartered Fire Engineer status
- Able to obtain UK security clearance
