An outstanding secondary school in Birmingham is seeking to appoint a committed and passionate Assistant SENCO to join their established SEND team from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring or experienced practitioner looking to further develop their career within a high-performing, inclusive school environment that places SEND provision at the heart of its ethos.

The Role
As Assistant SENCO, you will:
  • Support the SENCO in leading and managing the SEND provision across the school
  • Work closely with teaching staff to ensure high-quality, inclusive classroom practice
  • Assist with the identification, assessment, and monitoring of students with SEND
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of effective intervention strategies
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies
  • Help drive improvements in outcomes and experiences for students with additional needs

  • SEN qualification (or willingness to work towards) is desirable
