An Interim Assistant Repairs & Maintenance Manager job based in Worcestershire

Are you an experienced professional in housing repairs and property maintenance, looking for your next interim assignment? Hays are delighted to be supporting one of our key clients in the Worcestershire area in seeking a proactive and customer-focused Interim Assistant Repairs and Maintenance Manager to help lead the delivery of responsive repairs, voids, minor adaptations, and planned maintenance services across a diverse housing portfolio.


Your new role

Your role will support the effective management of day-to-day repairs and maintenance operations and lead and coordinate the wider team, including Senior Tradespersons and Caretaking staff. You will:

  • Ensure high standards of service delivery, customer satisfaction, and health & safety compliance
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to meet service demands
  • Contribute to service improvement through data, feedback, and systems thinking
  • Manage the direct labour teams
  • Ensure efficient delivery of the out-of-hours service
  • Ensure that all work is carried out within relevant health and safety legislation
This role is a 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday position.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed in this role you will require:

  • Proven experience in housing repairs or property maintenance
  • Strong understanding of building maintenance practices and health & safety regulations
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage teams, prioritise workloads, and deliver customer-focused services
  • A flexible, hands-on approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle

What you'll get in return

In return you will receive a competitive hourly rate based on your level of experience. Length of assignment is expected to be 3-6 months, with potential for extension, and potential permanent appointment.
