Your new role
This Assistant Project Accountant role is perfect for someone with a finance or accountancy background who thrives in a project-driven environment. If you’ve focused on project accounting, financial analysis, and data-led decision support within PMO functions, you’ll feel right at home.
You’ll be at the intersection of financial control, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement — supporting the delivery of high-impact programmes through structured governance and insightful reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Project Support & Control
- Implement and manage project lifecycle controls: documentation, change control, planning, resource profiling, and risk registers
- Produce status reports and risk analyses to support delivery teams and leadership
- Coordinate governance activities and maintain a portfolio of pipeline projects
- Engage with stakeholders across teams to ensure alignment and transparency
Financial Oversight
- Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reporting
- Maintain and audit project data across CRM and ERP platforms
- Manage purchase orders, job codes, and member statements
- Prepare and support funding claims and resource forecasts
Additional Contributions
- Support bid development and process improvement initiatives
- Provide training and mentorship to PMO colleagues
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure data integrity
- Has a strong foundation in finance or accountancy
- Has experience supporting projects through financial analysis and control
- Is confident working with large datasets and ERP systems
- Enjoys blending analytical rigour with collaborative project support
- Is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
