Requirement for an Assistant Production Manager in the Banbridge area

Your new company

A well-established and forward-thinking manufacturing business in the Banbridge area is seeking an experienced Assistant Production Manager to support its continued growth and digital transformation. Known for its commitment to quality, efficiency, and innovation, the company is investing in modern systems and sustainable practices to enhance its operations. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that values continuous improvement and offers a collaborative working environment.

Your new role

As Assistant Production Manager, you will play a key role in driving production planning, material efficiency, and digital transformation across the site. Reporting to the Head of Production, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate production schedules, forecasting raw material requirements, and ensuring optimal stock levels. A major focus of the role will be supporting the implementation of ERP, MRP, and MES systems, helping to digitise planning processes and improve data accuracy. You will lead initiatives to reduce waste by at least 20% over the first year, build reporting dashboards, and contribute to lean manufacturing projects. Safety and compliance are also central to the role, with responsibilities including risk assessments, incident reporting, and promoting a culture of safety across the production team.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will need 3–5 years of experience in production or material planning within a manufacturing environment, ideally in food or FMCG. You should have hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of improving planning accuracy and reducing waste. Familiarity with health and safety regulations, lean manufacturing principles, and digital systems implementation will be highly beneficial. A relevant degree in supply chain, manufacturing, or engineering is preferred, along with professional certifications in planning or continuous improvement.

What you'll get in return

In return, you’ll receive a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package that supports both professional development and work-life balance. Performance incentives are available based on key metrics such as waste reduction, planning accuracy, safety, and successful system implementation. You’ll also have access to funded training opportunities in planning, lean methodologies, and digital systems, with clear pathways for career progression into senior planning or operations roles.
