Assistant People Director

You will be joining a forward‑thinking leadership team focused on delivering high‑quality services and creating an inclusive and supportive working culture.

Your new role

As Assistant People Director you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the organisation’s people agenda. You will provide senior strategic leadership across several People & OD functions, including Employee Relations, People Partnering, HR Operations, Policy, and People Systems & Analytics.

You will lead on complex employment matters, oversee organisational change activity, develop constructive consultation processes, and ensure the People & OD service operates efficiently and effectively. You will also represent the People function across internal committees and working groups, contributing to wider organisational priorities.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Senior HR/People & OD leadership experience
  • Strong background in employee relations and complex casework
  • Experience working constructively with recognised Trade Unions
  • Proven track record leading organisational change and transformation
  • Strong stakeholder influence, including at senior leadership level
  • Experience overseeing HR systems, data, reporting and service improvement
  • Ability to lead and develop high‑performing teams
