A successful and growing manufacturing business based in Trowbridge is seeking an experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join its finance team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who can quickly integrate into a busy environment and support key accounting activities during a period of increased workload.

Your new role

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will assist with month-end reporting, financial analysis, budgeting and management accounting responsibilities whilst helping ensure the smooth running of the finance function. Duties will include:

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations
• Producing variance analysis and financial reports
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
• Assisting with stock and inventory accounting
• Monitoring manufacturing costs and analysing production variances
• Supporting cash flow reporting
• Preparing KPI reports and financial performance analysis
• Assisting with year-end and audit requirements
• Supporting process improvements across the finance function

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience in an Assistant Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant or Management Accounts role
• Strong month-end and reconciliation experience
• Excellent Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Previous manufacturing or production sector experience would be beneficial
