Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering exclusively with a successful & rapidly growing multi-entity logistics group to recruit a dynamic, driven & hands-on Assistant Management Accountant for their finance function based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. The position will report directly to the Financial Manager, supporting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, through to variance analysis support, budgeting & forecasting & more. A great opportunity for a CIMA/ACCA/ACA studier to really develop further in their accounting career as the group continues to grow. The position will offer a split of remote/office hybrid working, along with a study package for financial qualifications.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, along with variance analysis. Month-end accounting processes, including accruals, prepayments, journals & balance sheet reconciliations. You will support the Finance Manager with the preparation of budgets and rolling forecasts, manage/update fixed asset registers and depreciations, along with maintaining/reconciling general ledger accounts. You will provide cover for the finance functions when required, including purchase/sales ledger processes, online banking & cash-related reconciliations. As you develop within the organisation, you will be given the opportunity to really develop further & take on additional duties.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on & progressive Assistant Management Accountant role, you will need experience in a similar position, ideally AAT qualified studying in CIMA/ACCA/ACA. You will have experience in a range of financial systems, key MS Excel skills and be used to managing workloads to meet deadlines. Key communication skills to partner internally/externally at all levels, willing to learn/progress, along with being adaptable to business needs. You will have a proactive & positive working approach; a key problem solver who is a team player but can also use their own initiative. You will be hands-on, used to varied accounting/broad finance roles & show a strong commitment to driving process improvements.

What you'll get in return

This permanent Assistant Management Accountant role offers £34,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependable on experience, including a study package for CIMA/ACCA/ACA, based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
