Assistant Management Accountant

Your new role

As Assistant Management Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Group Reporting function and ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely financial information. This is a broad and engaging position offering strong exposure across management accounts, reporting, and core finance operations. Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end management accounts and PLC reporting within tight deadlines
  • Preparing cash flow forecasts
  • Assisting with revenue reconciliation
  • Managing sales ledger tasks, including invoicing, credit control and aged debtor reporting
  • Completing bank reconciliations across UK and international entities
  • Preparing payment runs and uploading transactions to banking platforms
  • Posting prepayment and accrual journals
  • Processing purchase ledger invoices with accuracy and ensuring correct approval
  • Preparing and posting payroll journals
  • Producing commission and expense calculations
  • Completing key balance sheet reconciliations
  • Updating and reconciling the fixed asset register
  • Assisting with tax and audit pack preparation
  • VAT reconciliation and preparation
  • Scheduling supplier payments and setting up customer Direct Debits
  • Ordering office supplies and supporting ad hoc finance activities as required
This is a varied and hands‑on role well suited to someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys working autonomously.

What you'll need to succeed

  • AAT qualified or part‑qualified ACCA (or equivalent)
  • Strong IT skills; advanced Excel experience desirable
  • Experience using Xero beneficial
  • Experience of PLC reporting advantageous
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused approach
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
  • Comfortable engaging across different levels of the business
