An Assistant Commercial Solicitor job paying up to £65K, supporting a large infrastructure organisation.

Your new company

A great opportunity to join a supportive, collaborative in-house legal team within a large organisation delivering major engineering, construction and infrastructure programmes. The team works closely with project, commercial and operational functions, providing clear, practical and commercially focused legal support across a range of capital projects. Due to structural growth, we are seeking an Assistant Commercial Solicitor on a permanent basis.

Your new role

As an Assistant Commercial Solicitor, you’ll support senior colleagues on high value, technically complex engineering and construction projects. You’ll work across a broad mix of non contentious matters, including:
•Drafting, reviewing and negotiating engineering and construction contracts (particularly NEC3 / NEC4, or similar)
•Advising on the legal structuring of construction and infrastructure arrangements
•Supporting large capital programmes and business critical projects
•Working closely with commercial and project teams to strengthen early stage decision making
•Helping manage risk and ensuring robust contractual approaches across engineering and construction activities
You’ll be part of a friendly multi disciplinary team and gain exposure to a wide variety of infrastructure work.

What you'll need to succeed

You’ll be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with ideally 4+ years’ post qualification experience and a solid grounding in engineering and construction law. You’ll also bring:
•Strong drafting and interpretation skills, particularly with engineering and construction contracts
•Good legal judgement and an understanding of commercial risk
•The ability to work proactively and collaborate effectively with wider teams
•Good IT and document management skills
•Knowledge of public procurement (desirable but not essential)
Previous in-house experience is welcome but not required.

What you'll get in return

A full time role with a hybrid approach, typically spending 2–3 days each week in the office. Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll have access to a generous benefits package, including but not limited to:
•A market leading pension contribution
•25 days annual leave
•Life assurance (4x salary)
•Study support for job related qualifications
•Supportive career development and progression opportunities
