Assistant Accountant – £17.06 per hour – Temporary – Ballymena

Your new role

As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the Financial Accountant and wider finance team. This temporary position offers exposure to a variety of accounting tasks, including:
  • Assisting with preparation of monthly management and statutory accounts
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly cash flow forecasts
  • Performing bank reconciliations
  • Posting general ledger journals
  • Carrying out balance sheet and control account reconciliations
  • Managing intercompany reconciliations
  • Assisting with year-end accounts and audit preparation
  • Supporting daily finance operations


What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you should have:
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a finance department
  • 5 GCSEs (A–C) or equivalent, including Maths and English
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • A proactive, independent approach with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
Desirable:
  • Experience with Navision or similar ERP systems
  • Exposure to senior management reporting
  • Experience in a commercial environment
