We’re working with a well-established organisation to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team based in Wallasey. This is an excellent opportunity offering long-term progression, hybrid working (after probation), and future study support.

The Role
You will play a key role in supporting the finance function, ensuring accurate financial data and contributing to the smooth running of the department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing purchase and sales invoices, receipts, and payments
- Supporting payroll processes and handling expense claims
- Managing direct debits
- Maintaining accurate financial records within accounting systems and Excel
- Assisting with bank reconciliations and account matching
- Supporting month-end and year-end processes
- Handling invoice queries and liaising with internal stakeholders
- Preparing routine financial reports
This is a varied and fast-paced role offering strong development opportunities.
About You
- Previous experience in accounts administration, finance, or data input
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident using Excel and accounting systems (Sage desirable)
- Well organised with the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Payroll knowledge is advantageous
