Assistant Accountant & Payroll - Beckton - £34000 - £36000 + generous monthly bonus scheme
Your new company
An established and stable organisation which is experiencing a period of growth my client is seeking an accounts and payroll professional to join their expanding finance team.
Your new role
Payroll:
- Run weekly wages and monthly salaries
- Weekly and monthly pension and RTI update
- P60S, P11d and P46 submission
- Managing new starters, leavers and amendments
- Carry out manual calculations (SSP, SMP, Tax, NI, Overpayments)
- Respond to and resolve staff queries about pay dates, absences, timesheets and pay amounts
- Processing statutory payment, attachment orders and other earnings/deductions
- Liaise with HMRC for PAYE queries
- Company car administration
- Review and authorise new accounts
- Reconciling accounts
- Accrual and prepayment
- Journal preparation and posting
- Expenses
- VAT returns
- Assisting the Finance Manager with preparation of annual accounts for auditors
- Supporting the sales and purchase ledger team members
- Assist with adhoc projects for the Finance Manager and Finance Director
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience of running a payroll end-to-end with up-to-date legislation knowledge is pivotal.
- Knowledge of auto-enrolment requirements- Bookkeeping, including month-end close and reconciliation experience will be key
- Confident approach to learning new systems
- Strong communication skills
