We’re working confidentially with a well‑established and fast‑growing accountancy practice who are looking to add an Assistant Accountant to their team. This role would suit someone with 1–2 years’ experience in practice who is actively studying AAT and keen to broaden their exposure beyond pure processing.

Your new role

• Day‑to‑day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
• Bank and control account reconciliations
• Preparation of VAT returns
• Assisting with monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Reviewing bookkeeping entries and resolving queries
• Supporting clients with cloud accounting software
• Liaising with HMRC when required

What you'll need to succeed

• 1–2 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
• Studying AAT (Level 2, 3 or early Level 4)
• Exposure to bookkeeping and VAT
• Familiarity with cloud software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
• Good Excel skills and strong attention to detail
• Confident communication skills and a positive, team‑focused attitude
