This is an exciting opportunity to join a high‑performing international finance team as they optimise and modernise their core accounting processes.
You’ll be based in the Bristol office at least three days a week, with flexibility to work from home for part of your week.
A role with real impact
As the Assistant Accountant, you’ll help ensure the month‑end processes run smoothly, efficiently and to timetable. You’ll take ownership of key accounting activities, support the integrity of the balance sheet, and partner closely with both onshore and offshore teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
  • Preparing manual journals in line with the month‑end timetable and group requirements
  • Monitoring the quality and timeliness of offshore sub‑ledger processing, providing feedback and assurance reporting
  • Completing balance sheet and bank reconciliations to agreed standards
  • Ensuring balance sheet integrity by investigating and resolving queried items promptly
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within your area
  • Responding to stakeholder queries professionally and within agreed timeframes
What you'll need to succeed
  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to maintain, analyse and improve reporting
  • Experience working with complex financial systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately to tight deadlines
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving, particularly during month‑end
  • Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across finance, tax, audit and offshore teams
