Dunmurry | Fixed-Term Contract | Office-Based

1. Your New Company
You will be joining a global manufacturing and engineering organisation with a strong reputation for innovation, safety, and operational excellence. The business operates across multiple international markets and is committed to developing its people through structured learning, collaboration, and clear progression pathways. Finance plays a critical role in supporting commercial decision-making and ensuring robust financial governance across the organisation.

2. Your New Role
As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the Finance team with a broad range of accounting and reporting activities, gaining hands-on exposure to core financial processes. This is a developmental role, designed to build the technical and commercial capability required to progress into a full Accountant position.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting the compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data under the guidance of senior finance colleagues
  • Monitoring performance against budgets and reporting variances in line with internal controls and regulatory requirements
  • Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting statutory accounting and compliance activities, including tax and regulatory requirements
  • Participating in the month-end close process, including coordination of reporting deadlines and preparation of board-level information
  • Producing financial analysis and ad-hoc reports to support improvement initiatives and business projects
  • Responding to finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting the effective use of finance systems and data management tools
  • Contributing to a strong control environment and identifying areas of non-compliance or process improvement
You will also play an active role in promoting a safety-first, inclusive, and values-driven culture across the finance function.

3. What You’ll Need to Succeed
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
  • A university degree or vocational qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline
  • 6–12 months of relevant work experience (including undergraduate placements where applicable)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and key performance indicators
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills, with confidence engaging a range of stakeholders
  • A proactive mindset, with an interest in continuous improvement and learning
  • Competency in finance systems and digital tools, with the ability to adapt to new technologies
No formal management experience is required, as this role is focused on professional development.

4. What You’ll Get in Return
In return, you will receive:
  • A fixed-term opportunity within a well-established, international organisation
  • Exposure to a broad range of accounting and reporting activities
  • A supportive environment focused on training, development, and career progression
  • The opportunity to work within a collaborative finance team that values integrity, innovation, and excellence
  • A professional, office-based working environment in the Dunmurry area
This role is ideal for an aspiring finance professional looking to strengthen their technical skills and progress their accounting career within a structured and supportive organisation.
