Asset Manager – Regeneration & Property Portfolio
Salary: Circa £50,000- £55,000
Location: East London (Hybrid – 1–2 days/week remote)
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Reports to: Senior Development Lead

Overview
A unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking regeneration and property development team working across a diverse commercial portfolio. This role offers the chance to operate as the client, with all property management outsourced to leading firms, allowing you to focus on strategic asset oversight and development.
The position blends public and private sector exposure, ideal for professionals seeking to broaden their experience in a commercially driven environment with a strong social impact mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the acquisition, management, and development of commercial assets to drive local regeneration.
  • Oversee outsourced property managers handling industrial, retail, office, and land assets.
  • Provide strategic instructions on lease re-gears, tenant issues, dilapidations, arrears, and other matters.
  • Manage external agents, surveyors, solicitors, and consultants.
  • Contribute to new development projects, including viability assessments and appraisals for mixed-use schemes.
  • Report on portfolio performance to senior stakeholders, including financial analysis and strategic recommendations.
  • Procure third-party suppliers using compliant frameworks to ensure value for money and social value.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance income and fee generation.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel (loan calculations, pivot tables, data queries).
  • Confident in presenting to senior stakeholders and public forums.

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • MRICS qualification.
  • Experience in client-side or consultancy portfolio management.
  • Commercial leasing and property management across office, retail, and industrial sectors.
  • Knowledge of landlord/tenant legislation, service charge codes, and valuation methodologies.
  • Familiarity with property systems (e.g., Tramps, Yardi) and appraisal tools (e.g., Proval, Argus).
  • Experience working with or within local authorities.
  • Understanding of planning processes, RIBA stages, and construction workflows.
