We're seeking an experienced and proactive ASB Legal Officer on a short-term temporary contract, covering patches in Cheshire and Crewe on a hybrid basis, with mileage paid from home.

Key responsibilities:

• Investigate, manage and resolve cases of nuisance, tenancy breaches, anti social behaviour and safeguarding
• Use a range of legal remedies to provide effective resolutions, such as mediation referrals, warnings and ABCs
• Initiate legal proceedings, prepare court paperwork and applications including injunctions and possession proceedings
• Represent the group in court if required, and prepare and support witnesses and victims through the legal process
• Visit victims, perpetrators and witnesses to collect evidence including witness statements
• Respond to complaints and queries from local Councillors

What you'll need to succeed

• A strong background in ASB casework, tenancy enforcement and safeguarding

• A good knowledge of legal processes, legislation and best practice in relation to ASB resolution, community safety and social housing

• Experience of preparing legal casework, taking witness statements and self-representing in court

• Driving licence with access to own vehicle and business insurance, with flexibility to travel in line with business requirements on a hybrid basis
