Major consultancy, new strategic role, Southampton with hybrid working, excellent package and benefits.
Your new company
Are you an ambitious Architect looking for the opportunity to build and shape a growing architectural team while benefiting from the support, resources and reputation of a major global consultancy?
Our client is a highly respected multidisciplinary consultancy with a significant UK and international presence, delivering some of the country's most high-profile projects across the built environment, infrastructure, education, commercial and public sectors. As part of a strategic growth plan, they are seeking an Architectural Studio Lead to strengthen and expand their Southampton architecture team.
This is a rare opportunity to join at a pivotal stage of growth. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing the Southampton studio, influencing its direction, helping to grow the team around them, and driving new business across the South Coast region. At the same time, they will benefit from close collaboration with an established regional leadership team and access to extensive national resources, expertise and project opportunities.
Your new role
The Southampton office already has a strong foundation, and our client is looking for an experienced architect who can help elevate and expand its architectural offering throughout the region.
You will take ownership of studio growth, help secure and deliver work, develop client relationships, and provide leadership across both design and project delivery. This role would suit someone who enjoys combining architecture, team leadership and business development, and who is excited by the prospect of helping shape a growing regional presence.
* Lead and develop the Southampton architectural studio.
* Support the growth of the architectural team through recruitment, mentoring and staff development.
* Foster a positive, collaborative and design-focused studio culture.
* Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients across the South Coast region.
* Lead business development activities, networking initiatives and bid submissions.
* Manage project resources, programme performance and financial delivery.
* Act as Lead Consultant and Design Manager on key projects.
* Ensure the successful delivery of high-quality architectural projects from concept through to completion.
* Collaborate closely with regional and national leadership teams to identify growth opportunities.
* Help expand market presence across commercial, education, local authority and public-sector projects.
What you'll need to succeed
* ARB Registered Architect status.
* A proven track record delivering projects within sectors such as commercial, education, local government or wider public sector work.
* Previous experience leading teams, mentoring staff and managing project delivery.
* Strong design, technical and project management capabilities.
* Experience developing client relationships and winning new business.
* Bid preparation and tender submission experience.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and BIM processes.
* Commercial awareness and an understanding of project financial management.
What you'll get in return
Salary will be dependent on experience level, and the range reflects the company's flexibility to accommodate either those entering management or someone with an established track-record. The company offers car allowance alongside the base salary.
* Help shape and grow a regional architectural team from the ground up.
* Influence recruitment, culture, strategy and future direction.
* Take a visible leadership position within a growing South Coast operation.
* Work with the backing of a globally recognised consultancy and multidisciplinary network.
* Access major project opportunities, established client relationships and national sector expertise.
* Benefit from excellent career progression prospects, flexible working arrangements and ongoing professional development.
For ambitious architects seeking a platform to make a genuine impact while retaining the support structure of a major international organisation, this represents an outstanding career opportunity.
