Your new role

Your new role
This role roughly comprises 50% of analysing drone footage and the other 50% more traditional surveying and inspection works. Your main responsibilities are below:
- Analyse drone footage on a range of rail projects, assessing tree health and potential hazards.
- Tree identification and surveying, including the measurement of tree dimensions (height, diameter, canopy spread), and assessing their condition, age, and ecological value.
- Logging of defects / diseases (e.g., fungal infections, dieback, cracks, leaning, deadwood), and advising of any recommended actions (e.g., pruning, removal, further inspection).
- Data management and collation; Input survey data into databases or GIS systems.
- Client, colleague and stakeholder liaising
- Time management for successful project delivery in an agreed timescale
- Working with a multidisciplinary team; collaborate with environmental consultants, engineers, and construction teams.
What you'll need to succeed
- A level 3 or 4 Arboriculture Qualification or Diploma
- Good tree identification skills including defects and diseases, ideally a PTI qualification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
- Full UK Driving License and a willingness to travel to site.
