Your new role

As an Aquatic Ecologist, you will join a multidisciplinary ecology team and work on a variety of freshwater and wetland projects across the UK. Your role will involve undertaking field surveys, contributing to ecological assessments, and producing high-quality technical reports to support planning and development projects. You will be involved across the project lifecycle, from survey design to reporting and client liaison, with opportunities to develop technical skills and progress within the consultancy.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree (or higher) in Ecology, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrable experience working in aquatic or freshwater ecology, ideally within a consultancy environment
  • Practical experience of aquatic survey methods (e.g. rivers, lakes, wetlands)
  • A good working knowledge of UK environmental legislation and best practice
  • Strong report writing and communication skills
  • A full UK driving licence

Desirable:
  • Membership (or working towards membership) of a relevant professional body (e.g. CIEEM)
  • Specialist survey experience or certifications
  • Experience contributing to Ecological Impact Assessments
