Application Support Analyst - Permanent - Newport - Hybrid - Up to £50k

Hays are partnering with a financial services organisation based in Newport to support the recruitment of a permanent Application Support Analyst. The role offers flexible hybrid working and a salary up to £50,000pa depending on experience.

In the role, you will collaborate closely with end-users, support teams, and developers to troubleshoot issues, optimise system performance, and elevate the overall user experience. The role involves active participation in testing processes, including user acceptance testing (UAT), regression testing, and implementing test automation strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and resolving application incidents, identifying root causes, and preventing recurrence
  • Monitoring system health and supporting performance improvements
  • Assisting users with onboarding, training, and validating releases
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and sharing knowledge
  • Collaborating across teams to ensure stable deployments and compliance with processes



Key Skills Required

You’ll need to be a clear communicator with strong analytical skills and a proactive, service-oriented approach. Comfortable in fast-paced settings, you manage multiple priorities and engage effectively with both technical and non-technical users. Experience in UAT, regression testing, or automation is a plus.

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication
  • Proficient in documenting processes and training users
  • Experience with SaaS application support
  • Familiar with test and monitoring automation tools (preferred)
  • Understanding of ITIL and ticketing systems
  • Practical experience in UAT, regression testing, and test automation (preferred)
