AP / AR Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a AP / AR Manager to lead a small team and take ownership of critical financial operations, with a key focus on minimising debt, maximising cash flow, and driving operational efficiencies.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work across both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, while playing a vital role in streamlining financial processes and supporting strategic projects, including system migrations. The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative, dynamic environment, and possess strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership & Staff Management: Lead and support a small finance team (AP & AR), including training, performance reviews, and recruitment.
• Accounts Receivable & Credit Control: Full responsibility for AR functions across multiple entities; manage customer master data, oversee credit checks, invoicing, reconciliations, cash allocations, and bad debt provisions.
• Accounts Payable Oversight: Approve changes to supplier data, oversee payment runs, manage monthly closure and reconciliations, and support accurate accruals/prepayments.
• Reporting & Analysis: Deliver weekly and monthly reporting on cash flow, debtor/creditor days, aged debt, and variance analysis.
• Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to minimise revenue leakage, drive efficiency, and support the transition from legacy to modern finance systems.
• Audit & Compliance: Support audit processes and maintain compliance across financial procedures.

What We’re Looking For:
• 2+ years in a credit control or AR managerial role
• Strong finance knowledge, including reconciliations and journal understanding
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Confident working with high-volume transactions and complex queries
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
• Self-starter with strong time management and attention to detail
• Experience leading or supporting finance system migrations is an advantage

Benefits:
• Salary up to £45,000
• Hybrid working (1 day from home)
• Opportunity to work in a collaborative and forward-thinking team
• Involvement in impactful finance transformation projects
