Job Opportunity: Afterschool Club Coordinator (Sheffield)

Are you a dynamic, creative, and organised individual with a passion for enriching children's lives? We're on the lookout for a standout character to lead our vibrant Afterschool Club in Sheffield.

Role Overview

As Afterschool Club Coordinator, you’ll be the driving force behind a safe, engaging, and inspiring environment for children after school. Working closely with the Headteacher, you’ll shape and deliver a programme of activities that spark imagination, support development, and make every afternoon unforgettable.

Salary
£13–£16 per hour (depending on experience)
⌚Hours
2.30pm until 6pm, Monday to Friday. Term time only

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the club’s vision and delivery plan
  • Create and lead enriching activities that promote creative play
  • Support extended services including Breakfast and Holiday Clubs
  • Line manage club staff: recruit, train, mentor, and appraise
  • Handle day-to-day admin, budgeting, and financial records
  • Liaise with parents, school staff, and external agencies
  • Promote parental involvement and community engagement
  • Seek funding opportunities and write bids to support club growth
  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies are upheld
  • Champion best practices and celebrate club successes
  • Commit to ongoing training and development

✅ Requirements
  • Minimum 20 days of experience working with young people within the last 2 years
  • Ideally, holds a DBS registered on the Update Service (we can support a new application if needed)
  • A warm, energetic personality that children gravitate toward
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Experience in childcare, education, or playwork
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and team support
  • A genuine passion for creating joyful, safe spaces for children
