A leading professional services firm is seeking a Manager with strong General Insurance pricing expertise to join its growing actuarial team. This is an opportunity to work within one of the largest actuarial practices in the market, partnering with insurers, reinsurers, regulators, private equity firms and other industry stakeholders.
This team plays a central role in delivering strategic, analytical and regulatory insights across the general insurance sector. You’ll help clients navigate some of the biggest challenges in the industry, spanning London Market, Lloyd’s, UK and European personal/commercial lines, and global reinsurance.
Your new role
As a Manager in the General Insurance Pricing practice, you will:
- Provide specialist advice across solvency, economic capital, risk management, M&A, restructuring, financial modelling and business planning.- Lead and deliver pricing projects, with opportunities to work on Reserving, Risk & Capital assignments across multiple markets.
- Support clients in areas such as transformation, transactions, cost optimisation and start‑ups.
- Develop risk analysis and modelling to enhance forecasting, inform strategy, and improve decision‑making.
- Manage a portfolio of actuarial and multidisciplinary assignments concurrently.
- Act as the main client contact on engagements, building strong, trusted relationships.
- Collaborate with specialists across the wider firm and international network.

What you'll need to succeed
This role would suit you if you:
- Bring a background in general insurance pricing—either from industry or consulting. They will consider both actuaries, or those who either gave up the exams (experience is more crucial).
- Have led actuarial or cross‑functional projects, managing teams, budgets and delivery timelines.
- Understand a broad range of pricing methodologies and key market/regulatory issues.
- Have strong knowledge of one or more of the following pricing areas: London Market direct, Reinsurance, or Personal lines (technical and/or street pricing)
- Bring experience with pricing tools such as HX, Tyche, Rulebook, SQL‑based rating engines, Earnix, Akur8, Emblem, Radar, Python or R.
- (Bonus) Have exposure to specialist pricing domains such as cyber, trade credit or catastrophe modelling.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
- Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the broader trends shaping the insurance sector.
- Are adaptable, self‑motivated and keen to apply your skills to new areas such as due diligence and technology transformation.
