Our client is a well-established, specialist acoustic consultancy delivering high quality advice and technical solutions across the built environment. With projects spanning commercial, industrial, residential and infrastructure sectors, they pride themselves on technical excellence, client service and a collaborative working culture.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Acoustic Consultant to join their team in Stockport.


Your new role

As an Acoustic Consultant, you will support the delivery of a diverse range of acoustic projects, contributing expertise in both environmental and building acoustics. You will work closely with clients, design teams, and senior consultants to deliver accurate assessments, reports and engineered solutions.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting environmental noise and vibration surveys across a variety of sites
  • Preparing detailed technical reports following relevant British Standards and best practice guidance
  • Supporting acoustic modelling and assessment work using industry standard software
  • Assisting in the design and specification of acoustic solutions for building and infrastructure projects
  • Liaising with clients, planners, architects and local authorities
  • Managing your own workload and contributing to project delivery deadlines
  • Supporting business development and proposal preparation where required


What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree in Acoustics, Engineering, Physics or a related STEM discipline
  • 1 to 3 years of experience within an acoustic consultancy environment (environmental or building acoustics)
  • Knowledge of relevant standards such as BS4142, BS8233, BS5228 and applicable ISO guidelines
  • Experience using noise modelling tools (e.g., CadnaA, SoundPLAN) is desirable.
  • Strong communication and report writing skills
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to the site as required
  • Working toward or holding IOA membership is advantageous.
