Senior Accountant Job, Manchester, £30,000 - £40,000 (DOE), with hybrid working at a leading Practice

Your new firm
You will be joining a leading chartered accountants located in Manchetser, with over 30 years expertise and experience within practice. They offer specialist services to their clients in Accounts, Audit, Bookkeeping, Tax, Corporate finance, payroll and other specialisms to further your accounting career, with a genuine prospect to excel your career. They have a varied client portfolio which consists of, but not limited to, professional services, SMEs, sole traders, limited companies, partnerships and more, increasing your exposure and giving you the opportunity to head your own portfolio. Audit work will also be apart of the role, making it more varied and giving you the opportunity to work on audits whilst maintaining your accounts work. Your new role
You will be taking a lead in the accounts department, supporting your seniors whilst reporting into them daily. You will train and support other members of the team, from trainees to semi seniors, whilst managing a portfolio of clients daily, to really further your experience. Day to day duties will cover leading this team and portfolio whilst also preparing and filing annual accounts, tax returns, and VAT returns. You will also be providing advice to clients daily in terms of accounts and tax. Audit work will be included, from supporting your partners and senior on the audit file at any stage, from planning through to completion and going out to client site. Maintaining relationships with current clients whilst forming new relationships with clients will play a key part of your role. Other duties consist of supporting the partners and managers with business development activities and liaising with clients and HMRC on accounting and tax matters.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to be either a qualified ACCA or ACA professional or be QBE; along with a minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role within practice will also be required. Software knowledge in accounting softwares such as Xero, Sage and Quickbooks will be expected and strong knowledge of Uk accounting regulations will be required. Prior audit experience will also be desired, however this is not mandatory. Other requirements would consist of being able to work independently and also as team, assisting juniors daily.
