Accounts Recieveable and Banking Officer 9 Month FTCBased in StaffordHybrid working policy
Your new role
- To ensure transactions posted to the bank statement are appropriately allocated within the ledger.
- To have an effective working relationship with the bank to ensure transactions on the bank statement can be investigated in a timely manner.
- To ensure cash and cheques paid to the Force are banked in a secure and timely manner.
- To manage the accounts receivable ledger to ensure there is robustness in all ledger balances.
- To ensure cheque payments made from the Force and OPCC are appropriately authorised and that the use of a cheque is the most appropriate payment method.
- To maintain the sales ledger, ensuring invoices are raised in an accurate and timely manner.
- To administer the debt collection arrangements in line with the debt collection policy and procedure.
- To administer the BACS payments for both the Force and OPCC and that Faster Payments and CHAPS payments are used appropriately in liaison with the Treasury Management function.
- To ensure performance is in line with appropriate KPI’s.
- To prepare monthly aged debtor reports with appropriate commentary.
- To support the year-end close-down process with a robust analysis of both the Force and OPCC’s Debtors.
- To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in accounts receivable and banking admin
A good working understanding of sales ledger and debt recovery procedures
Demonstrate a track record of providing a high quality, customer-focused financial service
Ability to build effective working relationships
Effective interpersonal skills.
Good level of communication skills
