Short term temporary contract - East Belfast - Immediate start

A well‑established and reputable engineering and technical services provider, this organisation has built a strong presence across Northern Ireland through consistent service delivery and long‑term customer partnerships. Due to continued growth and increased operational activity, the finance team is now seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional to support their expanding workload. You will be joining a supportive, close‑knit finance function within a stable and growing business that values accuracy, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Your new role

As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will manage the end‑to‑end supplier invoicing process, ensuring all financial transactions are processed accurately and on time. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Processing high volumes of supplier invoices and matching to purchase orders
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Managing weekly/monthly payment runs and preparing remittances
  • Maintaining accurate financial documentation and audit‑ready records
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries promptly
  • Supporting month‑end processes, accruals and reporting requirements
  • Providing general finance and administrative support to the wider team
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the AP function within a busy and fast‑paced environment.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or finance processing role
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence handling high‑volume transactions
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong supplier relationships
  • Good IT proficiency, ideally including Sage/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines and prioritise workload effectively
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement
  • Having previously worked in the construction space would be advantageous
