Accounts Payable Assistant – Temp

An established UK-based organisation with a strong reputation in research, innovation, and technical excellence is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join its finance team on a temporary basis for a minimum of 6 months. Your new role
Support the Accounts Payable function by processing and maintaining accurate records of supplier transactions, including credits, debits, and direct debits.
Use supplier portals to manage accounts and ensure timely processing of invoices.
Assist with reconciliation queries across all bank accounts related to Accounts Payable.
Review and reconcile supplier statements to ensure timely receipt and processing of invoices.
Respond to queries received via the Accounts email inbox, maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
Assist with UK BACS, one-off supplier payments, and international wire/AP payment requests in line with service level agreements.
Contribute to the maintenance of staff supplier accounts and support the processing of staff expense claims.
Act as part of the Super User team for Accounts Payable, supporting both Finance and wider business functions.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role, ideally within a busy finance team.
Strong understanding of transactional finance processes and supplier account management.
Experience using finance systems, Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is strongly preferred.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to resolve queries efficiently.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple tasks effectively.
