Accounts Assistant- 2-month contract based in Ayrshire

Your new company

Based in Ayrshire, our client is recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis to assist with a current backlog and support the wider team. The role is a 35-hour working week, with standard hours being 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. A hybrid working arrangement of one day a week is available. However, only once training and onboarding has been completed.

Your new role

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:

  • Draft and issue sales and purchase invoices.
  • Oversee and manage the contents and correspondence within the mailbox.
  • Process supplier invoices, reconcile supplier statements and assist with supplier payments.
  • Assist the senior finance team with any requirements or further duties.
  • Processing expenses
  • Preparing VAT Return.
  • Ownership of the credit control process, monitor customer balances and ensure issues are highlighted to management on a timely manner.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations.

What you'll need to succeed

This role requires keen attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all processes. You will possess strong purchase ledger experience and be able to hit the ground running. You will have experience working with high volumes of work and therefore can work under pressure and deal with complex invoice processing and queries. You will have excellent communication skills in order to work efficiently within the team and communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.
