Role Summary
Working for one of Prime Central London’s largest private residential homeowners. You will work alongside the Group Financial Controller and Assistant Group Financial Controller, as part of a small finance team, in a busy, “can-do” environment.
You will have prior experience of working in a finance team, preferably in the residential property sector.
We are looking for an organised and meticulous individual with the desire to gain further experience within a dynamic property environment.

You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as you will be regularly liaising with Department Heads and Building Managers.
Bank reconciliations
- Preparation of bank reconciliations on a fortnightly basis, liaising with the rest of the finance team to ensure that outstanding items are cleared on a timely basis
- Posting bank charges and other adhoc income and expenditure
Payroll
- Calculation of monthly rent commissions due to building managers and related staff
- Liaising with payroll bureau to ensure building managers are correctly paid each month, notifying them of starters, leavers, changes in pay etc
- Administration of pension contributions
- Calculating monthly payroll recharges and ensuring these are invoiced and paid
- Posting of all relevant journals and invoices in Propman (accounting system)
Credit cards
- Tracking spend on company credit cards, ensuring there is the proper support for all transactions
- Preparing recharges of credit card spend
- Reviewing credit card receipts, matching the supporting documentation, and ensuring these are transferred to the correct property rent accounts
Management Accounts
- Overall responsibility for management accounts of property management company
- Administration of selected recharges
- Calculating bad debt provisions
- Processing rent sweeps and posting relevant journals
- Running monthly prepayment routines in Propman
- Preparing selected balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
- Reviewing letting fees and agent commissions
- Checking utilities accruals
- Prepare monthly Income Reports to check completeness of billing
Additional responsibilities
- Cover for purchase ledger department during holidays/sickness
- Preparing payments
- Answering supplier queries
- Processing invoices
- Downloading bank statements
- Cover for sales ledger department during holidays/ sickness
- Taking credit card payments
- Downloading bank statements
- Preparing inter-account transfers
- Posting cash receipts
Dealing with enquiries from company auditors
Assisting external accountants with preparation of VAT returns and posting related journals
Assisting with annual budgeting process, and with ad hoc property acquisitions and disposals
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- At least 2 years’ experience working within a finance team in industry
- AAT qualified or ACCA/CIMA part qualified
- Strong attention to detail
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
- Ability to exercise initiative
- Ability to relate appropriately to others
- Numerate
- Good written and verbal communication skills (including good telephone manner)
- Must be self-motivated and very organised
- Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Experience of Propman accounting system (desirable not essential)
