Assistant Accountant
Salary: £35,000
Location: Office-based, Liverpool (5 days per week)

We are working with a growing and supportive organisation seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their friendly, collaborative finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone studying towards AAT or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA who is looking to develop their career in a positive and encouraging environment.
The Role
You will play a key role in supporting the month-end process, providing financial insight, and ensuring accurate reporting. This is a varied role within a fast-paced environment where you will have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvements and gain exposure across the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end reporting, including preparation and analysis of cost variances
- Assist with budgeting and reforecasting processes
- Produce accurate and timely financial information
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure processes are followed
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business
- Contribute to improving finance processes and efficiencies
- Support with ad hoc analysis and reporting as required
About You
- MUST have experience working in construction.
- Studying towards AAT or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders
- Highly organised with excellent time management
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Proactive, motivated, and keen to learn and develop
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong Excel skills; exposure to ERP systems (SAP advantageous)
