Accounts Assistant, Huddersfield, Up to £35k

Hays are delighted to be working with a well-established business in Huddersfield that’s looking to add an experienced Accounts Assistant to their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid grounding in transactional finance who’s looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and growing company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Processing purchase and sales invoices
  • Bank reconciliations and cashbook maintenance
  • Assisting with month-end reporting and journals
  • Managing supplier payments and resolving queries
  • Supporting credit control and aged debt reporting
  • Assisting with VAT returns and other HMRC submissions
  • Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders

What We’re Looking For:
  • Previous experience in a similar finance role
  • Strong understanding of transactional finance processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to work
  • AAT qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential
