Job title: Accounts Assistant
Your new company
You’ll be joining a well-established accountancy practice located in the heart of Glasgow. Known for its collaborative culture and low staff turnover, the firm has built a strong reputation over the years by supporting a diverse range of clients across various industries. As part of a growing team, you’ll be welcomed into a supportive environment where your development is genuinely valued.
Your new role
As a Trainee Accountant, you’ll gain hands-on experience across a broad spectrum of accounting tasks. You’ll be involved in preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships, as well as managing bookkeeping using cloud-based platforms like Xero and Sage. You’ll also take responsibility for preparing VAT returns and supporting senior colleagues with ad-hoc projects and client queries. This role offers a varied workload and the chance to build strong foundations in both technical and client-facing aspects of accountancy.
What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you’ll need at least two years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice and be actively studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification. A keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a naturally inquisitive mindset will serve you well. You’ll also be a confident communicator who enjoys working as part of a team, but is equally comfortable managing tasks independently.
What you'll get in return
You’ll benefit from a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. The firm offers genuine opportunities for career progression and exposure to a wide variety of clients and industries. You’ll be working in a friendly and inclusive environment, with a convenient city centre location that makes commuting easy.
What you need to do now
If you’re ready to take the next step in your accountancy career and want to be part of a firm that values your growth, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now to start your journey in a role that offers both challenge and support in equal measure.
