Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Your new company

You’ll be joining a well‑established, forward‑thinking accountancy practice with a strong reputation across Scotland. The firm is known for its supportive culture, commitment to professional development, and focus on delivering high‑quality service to a diverse portfolio of clients. Based in Edinburgh, you’ll be part of a collaborative environment where your contribution is valued and where you’ll have the opportunity to grow your skills within a respected and stable business.

Your new role

As an Accounts Assistant, you’ll support the wider finance team in delivering accurate and efficient financial services. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include preparing accounts, assisting with bookkeeping, handling reconciliations, and supporting month‑end processes. You’ll work closely with colleagues at various levels, gaining exposure to a broad range of accounting tasks and building your technical capability. This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their accounting career within a supportive professional practice.

What you'll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring a strong foundation in accounting principles, through previous experience in a similar role and through ongoing finance qualifications. Strong attention to detail, good organisational skills, and the ability to manage your workload effectively will be essential. Competency with accounting software and Excel will help you hit the ground running, and a willingness to learn, ask questions, and contribute to the team will set you up for long‑term success.

What you'll get in return

In return, you’ll benefit from a firm that truly invests in its people. You’ll receive ongoing training and development opportunities, including support toward professional qualifications if needed. The role offers a competitive salary, generous benefits, and a healthy work‑life balance. You’ll also be joining a friendly, inclusive team where your growth is encouraged, and your achievements are recognised. This is a great opportunity to build a rewarding career with a firm that values its employees and promotes from within.
