Your new role
As Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the Finance Manager across a range of duties. This is a hands‑on role within a busy SME environment, offering excellent exposure and development opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing purchase invoices and reconciling supplier statements
- Maintaining the sales ledger and issuing customer invoices
- Assisting with credit control and debtor management
- Completing daily bank reconciliations
- Supporting month‑end processes including journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Providing administrative support to the finance and operations teams
- Assisting with stock and workshop costing where required
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in an accounts or finance support role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience with accounting software (Sage or Xero desirable)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
