As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, processing transactions efficiently, and supporting the finance function across the business. Your new role
As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, processing transactions efficiently, and supporting the finance function across the business. This is a hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting systems, and the ability to manage multi-currency transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Input and process purchase invoices in a timely manner
- Post and allocate cash receipts and payments
- Upload and process payments using Sage accounting software
- Maintain accurate sales and purchase ledger records
- Complete Entry Summary Declarations and provide Trader Support
- Process transactions in both Sterling and Euro currencies
- Carry out general office administration and support finance/operations teams
- Perform bank reconciliations (desirable but not essential)
- Assist with VAT returns (desirable but not essential)
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years in a similar accounts or finance support role
- Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of Sage (or similar accounting software)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of multi-currency transactions (Sterling & Euro)
- Personal Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage administrative tasks effectively
