Accounts Assistant | Manufacturing | Full-time | £26K - £29K

Your new company

You’ll be joining a well-established and fast-growing organisation based in Blackburn, which currently reports a financial turnover of £7M. Known for its commitment to quality and innovation, the company continues to expand its operations and is looking for a dedicated Accounts Assistant to support its financial processes.

Your new role

Reporting to the Administration Manager and working closely with the Managing Director, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance team. Your responsibilities will include recording financial transactions, managing credit control, reconciling bank transactions, and preparing financial reports. You’ll also liaise with internal departments and external accountants to ensure smooth financial operations, including VAT return preparation and payment runs. This is a varied and hands-on role that offers the opportunity to contribute to key financial decisions through regular reporting and analysis.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you’ll need strong numerical and analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of UK accounting principles. Proficiency in accounting software is essential, and experience with Xero is desirable. While AAT certification and experience in the manufacturing sector are advantageous, they are not essential. You should be highly organised, able to prioritise tasks, and demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills. A professional attitude, discretion, and the ability to work proactively will be key to thriving in this role.

What you'll get in return

In return, you’ll receive a competitive salary of £26,000 to £28,000 per year, along with a range of benefits including company pension, employee discounts, free on-site parking, and regular company events. You’ll be part of a supportive team in a permanent, full-time position with opportunities to grow and develop your career in a thriving business environment.
