Temporary Accounts Assistant

Location: On-site, Wakefield Salary: £24,500 per annum Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday–Friday, 9:00–17:00

We are working with a well-established, family-owned retail brand to identify a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their Group Finance team. This is a great opportunity to join a nationally recognised business with over 50 years of heritage and a reputation for excellence.

The Role:

As Accounts Assistant, you will support both the Retail and Manufacturing operations of the Group. You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and delivering excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with customers regarding account queries and processing payments
  • Handling refunds and ensuring system records are updated accurately
  • General office administration, including filing and record keeping
  • Processing purchase ledger invoices and credits in line with company policy
  • Managing payments and petty cash requests across the store network
  • Providing ad hoc support to the wider finance team, including Purchase Ledger and Customer Accounts

  • Someone eager to learn and grow within a finance function
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset
  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts role is beneficial.
