Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Location: Bangor
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £30,000 (Depending on experience)

Role Overview:
This role supports the Finance Manager in the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing financial transactions and assisting with month-end and year-end procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and type client invoices as instructed by fee earners
- Monitor bank accounts and allocate incoming funds to appropriate clients and matters
- Process CHAPS/BACS payments with appropriate authorisation
- Post supplier invoices and payments using the practice management system
- Record and pay client disbursements
- Manage client and office bank accounts, including internal transfers
- Bank cheques and maintain accurate records
- Generate financial reports as required
- Monitor client account balances
- Liaise with suppliers when necessary
- Process expense claims and reconcile petty cash
- Chase outstanding debts and uncashed cheques
- Coordinate with fee earners regarding billing and aged debt
- Support month-end procedures and conduct bank reconciliations
- Maintain central registers in line with audit requirements
- Assist with year-end preparation, audit, reconciliations, and reporting
- Respond to year-end queries
Required Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Previous experience in a professional office environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Familiarity with practice management systems
- Experience managing both sales and purchase ledgers
- Competence in bank reconciliations
- Credit control experience
Desirable:
- Understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Experience using ALB (Advanced Legal Business) software
