Accounts Assistant | 12-Month Contract | Investment Management

Your new role

  • Support the implementation of a new expense and travel system.

  • Process purchase invoices, approximately 150 to 200 per month.

  • Process sales invoices, approximately 150 to 200 per quarter.

  • Prepare monthly accounts receivable reports and ensure outstanding balances are chased promptly.

  • Prepare monthly accounts payable reports, investigating debit balances and overdue payments.

  • Maintain the fixed asset register monthly and complete the reconciliation as part of month end.

  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts and resolve discrepancies or queries.

  • Support staff credit card expense processing.

  • Review staff expenses, ensuring correct support, coding and VAT treatment.

  • Prepare fortnightly payment runs.

  • Support the preparation of monthly prepayments and accruals for the group entities.

  • Assist the Finance Manager with analysis and information required for the monthly management accounts.

  • Provide support during the audit process.

  • Onboard new suppliers and customers onto the NetSuite system.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 1 to 3 years' experience in a finance or accounts role.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office experience, including Word and Excel.

  • Proactive, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work unsupervised.

  • Good team player, able to work effectively within a small team where ad hoc tasks can arise. Flexibility and a willingness to get stuck in are key.

  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to colleagues.
