Finance Analyst / Assistant Accountant - 3 Month Contract
We are seeking a temporary Finance Analyst / Assistant Accountant to provide support to our Finance team during a period of employee absence. This role will assist with a variety of month-end, reporting, compliance, accounts payable, and administrative finance activities, helping ensure the continued smooth operation of key financial processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong organisational skills and attention to detail who is comfortable working across multiple finance disciplines in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Support month-end close and monthly financial reporting activities.
• Assist with deferred revenue reporting and related reconciliations.
• Support internal and external audit activities, including preparation of supporting schedules, documentation, and data requests.
• Support tax and compliance activities, including preparation of general ledger analysis and supporting documentation.
• Support statutory, regulatory, and compliance reporting activities, including CIS returns and ONS surveys.
• Provide support for accounts payable processes, including vendor queries and issue resolution.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and reporting schedules.
• Support fixed asset administration, including project close-out activities and capitalisation.
• Provide general administrative and analytical support to the Finance team.
• Undertake ad hoc finance projects and tasks as required.

We're looking for a proactive and adaptable individual who can quickly learn established processes, work independently, and provide reliable support across a broad range of finance activities. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams. This role offers exposure to financial reporting, compliance, accounts payable, fixed assets, and monthend accounting processes within a large global organisation.
Skills & Experience
• Previous experience in finance, accounting, or financial administration role.
• Strong Excel and General Systems skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately with financial data.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Experience using SAP, Workday, or similar ERP systems would be advantageous.
• AAT qualified, studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA), or equivalent practical experience would be beneficial.
