Your New Company
A long‑established and reputable accountancy practice based in Stockport, this firm offers a friendly, close‑knit environment with a commitment to delivering high‑quality service to a loyal client base. They are now looking to strengthen their team with an experienced Client Assistant Manager. Part-time candidates will also be considered.
Your New Role
As a Client Assistant Manager, you will manage a portfolio of clients and act as a key point of contact across phone, email, and virtual meetings. You will also handle occasional on‑site client meetings. Your work will be varied and hands‑on, giving you exposure to a range of small practice clients and the opportunity to support a small accounts team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing statutory accounts for small to medium Ltd companies, including corporation tax computations
- Producing unaudited accounts for sole traders and partnerships
- Preparing self‑assessment tax returns
- Overseeing and supporting a small team of accountants, including reviewing work
- Managing your own portfolio, ensuring deadlines and client service levels are met
- Liaising with HMRC on client queries
- Representing the firm professionally and building strong client relationships
What You Will Need to Succeed
- At least 3 years’ experience in a small practice environment
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Confidence in preparing statutory accounts
- A proactive, positive attitude
- Strong IT skills including MS Office and familiarity with Xero, QuickBooks and Sage (Sage experience advantageous)
- Professional qualification AAT/ACA/ACCA or QBE considered equally
