Accountant needed for 3–4 month Temp Contract Based in Oldham for Charity.
Your new company
A respected not-for-profit organisation in Manchester is seeking a Accountant to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact within an organisation that delivers vital services to the community.
Your new role
As the Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement across the organisation. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting year-end financial statements
- Supporting budget holders with forecasting and financial planning
- Managing accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed asset registers
- Overseeing cashflow, banking, and investment transactions
- Supporting the audit process and ensuring compliance with HMRC and statutory requirements
- Driving process improvements and enhancing financial reporting
What you'll need to succeed
You will have:
- AAT qualification (or equivalent)
- Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Knowledge of charity financial policy, VAT regulations, and payroll processes
- Experience managing cashflow and preparing management accounts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise and influence stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems
Experience within the charity or not-for-profit sector is highly desirable.
