Accountant needed for 3–4 month Temp Contract Based in Oldham for Charity.

Your new company
A respected not-for-profit organisation in Manchester is seeking a Accountant to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact within an organisation that delivers vital services to the community.

Your new role
As the Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement across the organisation. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, you will be responsible for:
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting year-end financial statements
  • Supporting budget holders with forecasting and financial planning
  • Managing accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed asset registers
  • Overseeing cashflow, banking, and investment transactions
  • Supporting the audit process and ensuring compliance with HMRC and statutory requirements
  • Driving process improvements and enhancing financial reporting

What you'll need to succeed
You will have:
  • AAT qualification (or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of charity financial policy, VAT regulations, and payroll processes
  • Experience managing cashflow and preparing management accounts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise and influence stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems
Experience within the charity or not-for-profit sector is highly desirable.
