Job role
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Mathematics specialist to join and lead the Mathematics team across the school and deliver Mathematics up to GCSE and A-level. This could include learners who are resitting from Year 11. The successful candidate will work with our learners who have a wide range of ability levels. Mathematics has a strong profile in the school from Primary through to Key Stage 5 and has been very successful in the transition to the new more challenging curriculum. You will ensure high standards of teaching, learning and achievement, efficient use of resources and support the continuous development of the Mathematics curriculum.
Regardless of experience, the successful candidate will have the ability to embrace the inclusive therapeutic culture and ethos of the school. A strong commitment to raising achievement and standards is required along with an informed and creative approach to curriculum delivery.

To be successful, you will:
● Hold qualified teacher status (QTS) or have recent experience of teaching 11-18 year olds.
● Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of teachers.
● Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan & deliver inspiring and creative lessons.
● Have excellent subject knowledge and depth of understanding
● Be able to inspire, enthuse and motivate learners to ensure they achieve their full potential;
● Possess humour, energy, flexibility and a positive outlook
We are seeking someone who thrives on working in a challenging but immensely rewarding environment, who are passionate about the development of our learners and who truly want to make a difference to the lives of young people. Previous experience working within SEN is not essential, however you will need to have the ability to motivate and effectively communicate with children who have SEMH.
About Wilds Lodge School
Wilds Lodge School is an independent 38 week specialist boarding and day provision for boys and girls (girls are accepted as day learners only) for learners aged between 5 and 19 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties, set in Empingham, Rutland. All the learners at the school have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). It was established in 2007 and aims to place an equal emphasis on the educational, social and psychological development of our learners. The key to the success of the school is a strong ethos, developed by a highly experienced and capable staff, and the strength of the relationships between the staff and the learners.
We are a friendly school where staff are supportive of each other inside and outside of the classroom. We pride ourselves in ensuring all members of staff including our support staff have access to regular training.
All our members of staff attend regular training on child protection; mental health and multi-agency working. All staff access a wide range of training on areas of SEN such as Autism, attachment and ADHD.
