A leading consultancy is seeking a Principal EIA Planner to join its expanding Environmental and Planning team.

This role involves managing multidisciplinary projects, coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments, and providing strategic planning advice across a range of sectors and geographies.

Your new role

In this role you will need to:

• Lead and manage environmental planning projects with varying sensitivities
• Coordinate EIA delivery in line with UK legislation and policy
• Prepare and review EIA documentation from screening to Environmental Outcome Reports (EORs)
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance
• Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and planning authorities
• Drive team performance and improve delivery standards
• Support business development and cross-sell services
• Mentor junior staff and provide line management where applicable
• Ensure all work complies with legal, contractual, and organisational policies

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree in EIA, Planning, or related discipline
• Chartered membership of IEMA and/or MRTPI
• Strong analytical, presentation, and communication skills
• Experience preparing fee proposals and contributing to bids
• Commercial awareness and stakeholder negotiation skills
• Proficiency in GIS and understanding of environmental technical disciplines
• Self-motivated, organised, and collaborative
• Full UK driving licence
