My client provides comprehensive commercial property advice both regionally and nationally to occupiers, developers, investors, and public sector organisations.
They offer a full range of services, including agency, development, acquisition, property management, rating, planning, building surveying, project management, landlord and tenant, valuation, and property investment.
They have a commercially focussed ecology consultancy team that supports clients through all stages of the development lifecycle. They support from the early stages of a scheme, from land promotion and early ecological constraints and biodiversity offsetting implications, identifying ecological risks and programming protected species surveys.
Your new role
The role will include a variety of office and ecology fieldwork and provide you with the opportunity to develop new survey skills, undertake protected species surveys and a wide range of ecology-related tasks with support from a mentor, providing you with valuable consultancy experience.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Organising and conducting field surveys.
- Undertaking initial desk studies – gathering, reviewing and assessing existing ecological information.
- Developing in-field data collection techniques.
- Undertaking protected species surveys such as GCN, bat and badger surveys amongst others.
- Conducting botanical surveys and using the latest BNG metric.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in ecological consultancy
- Good report writing skills
- Knowledge of a wide range of ecological surveying techniques and methods
- Good project management skills
- Ability to liaise with clients effectively
- Excellent botanical skills and ideally a FISC qualification
- Level 1 or 2 bat license is desirable
- Level 1 GCN license is desirable
