We are recruiting on behalf of a leading mechanical services provider that specialises in a diverse range of projects, including leisure centres, healthcare facilities, public sector buildings, and warehouses. The project values range from £5,000 to £2 million, and the company prides itself on delivering high-quality plumbing, heating, and HVAC solutions.

Your new role

The company is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design and build projects, with a proven track record in estimating for plumbing, heating, and HVAC systems. Hybrid working conditions would be considered for this role, allowing you to balance office and remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical services projects, including plumbing, heating, and HVAC systems.
  • Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for accurate estimation.
  • Maintain and update a database of costs, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and reports to clients and management.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and contract negotiations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction or mechanical services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, heating, and HVAC systems.
  • Design and build experience is essential.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
